Summer Get Away

Since we've been married at least one of us has been in school and we've both been working. As you can imagine, this leaves little time for vacation. Even our honeymoon was just a quick stay in Sedona because I started a new job three days after we got married. Well, I finally got a week long vacation from school and was able to get a couple of days off work so we took full advantage of it and went on an amazing, adventurous, beautiful, tropical vacation to....... drum roll, please..... Midway, Utah! Ok, so it might not be on American's Top Vacation Destination List and it wasn't very tropical but we had a blast!

We spend a LOT of time in the car together.

One of the first things we did was also one of my favorites. We went to Salt Lake and did a session at the temple. It was my first session in the Salt Lake Temple and it was an experience that I will never forget. The spirit was incredible and I was glad to start our trip off on a such a high note.

The weather in Utah was perfect. We spend half a day in Park City shopping and being outside enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather.

We stayed at a fun little resort called, The Homestead. The surrounding mountains and scenery were amazing. We loved the small town environment.

One of the coolest things about staying at the Homestead was the Homestead Crater. The crater is a natural hot spring that's enclosed in a large cave. We went swimming in the crater but my camera ran out of battery right before we got there. Here is a picture of it that I found online.

One of our favorite things to do was go the "The Store." It's literally the only store in town and it has everything from wheel barrows to fresh produce but it's only the size of a small Albertsons. A couple of afternoons, we went there and bought a glass bottle of sprite and played cards on the chairs outside. We had so much fun just being together and relaxing.

On our last day, we went on a hike to Cascade Springs. It was probably one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever been on. It was so fun to be with David for 5 days straight; I can't wait until we can do it again!

P.S. Isn't he cute! I love this man.
