Newborn Photo Shoot
We were lucky enough to have Drew's picture taken by Lillian Parker Photography when he was just a week old. She came to our house, set up a little studio and was so patient with Drew. Now, I realize this is a little bit of a picture overload but he is so dang cute, I couldn't pick just a few.
BYU Football
David has been so excited to watch BYU football with Drew. He was born just in time for football season and David couldn't be more thrilled with his new football watching buddy!

Happy Birthday Drew!
When we went to the doctor for our 38 week appointment, the doctor scheduled us to be induced just a few days before our due date. The doctor said that since I was already dilated to a 2 and 90% effaced, I was a good candidate for induction. We couldn't have been more excited! We were looking forward to Tuesday, August 28th at 9am like it was christmas...but WAY better!
We tried to sleep in on Tuesday but we were way too excited to sleep. We called the hospital at 8am and they told us that they were WAY behind and still working on inductions that were scheduled for Sunday they said they would call us in "later in the day." We were super disappointed and tried to find ways to kill time. We went out to breakfast, played video games, went out to lunch, watched movies and still no call from the hospital. We called them on Tuesday night and they said "possibly wednesday..." this continued for a couple of days! We were going crazy waiting for THE call. Finally, on Friday evening while we were out to dinner with my parents, my phone rang and it was the hospital. We were so excited!! Well, David was super excited, I was suddenly super nervous. But we quickly ate our dinner and rushed home. David gave me a blessing and we drove to the hospital. Once we got all registered at the hospital, we were taken to our labor and delivery room. After 3 tries they finally got an IV in me and started me on Pitocin at 7:45pm.
At about 10:30pm my water broke and the contractions were getting a little more intense. It was time for an epidural. The nurse anesthetist said that I have the tightest back he has ever done and it took him about 30 mins of pushing that needle into my back before he could get it in. He said the needle kept bending. I was glad I asked for the epidural early so the contractions weren't too bad for the 30mins he was working on me. But let me tell you, once the epidural was in, I was in heaven.
My mom, David and I, all took a little nap and before we knew it the nurse was calling the doctor. I pushed for about 30 mins, during which time David was counting to 10 WAY to slow and my mom was very encouraging. At 4:32am, our sweet little boy was born! It was such an incredible feeling to met him for the first time. I have been absolutely in love with him since! He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20.5 inches long. I love his perfect baby hair and his adorable chin. His tiny hands and feet are to die for and everyone says he has my eyes. I couldn't be more grateful to be his mom!
David was great through the whole pregnancy and delivery. He is so supportive and understanding. David is a natural at being a dad. Drew is super lucky to have such a kind, sweet and patient dad! I love seeing these two together.
